Now's The Time To Write The Crime
How To Crack The Code To Writing Intriguing Tales of Mysteries & Suspense.
Alex Simmons here.
First, thank you so much for signing up for this amazing and fun -filled course.
I've planned an eye-opening 3 days case of crimes, characters, and clues! Stay with us all the way and it'll climax in you being able to write a mystery thriller like never before!
So, now that you're in with us, here's the layout:
The Live Bootcamp runs August 19th - 23rd.
Pre- Party. Aug. 19th, 12 P.M. - 1:30 PM
Stop by and get the low down on what to expect, and meet the rest of the crew.
Day 1: Aug. 20th,
12 P.M. - 1:30 PM
The Hide Outs and the Criminal Mastermind.
Where do you go to do your work? What tools do you need, and what’s the proper mindset?
We’ll look at some noted mystery authors and how their heads work. Then we’ll examine yours.
Sit Down, Set Up and Stake Out
We'll get you in the right mindset with a dive into the truly structure of a mystery story. Can't put one together if you don't know the parts. And I know one that folks seem to overlook a lot.
Just The Fact Ma’aM
We'll also examine some of the most popular type of crime; who does what to whom a why. Next, working in small groups, we'll take a few wild shots at working out a few criminal acts. Then, like a good investigator, I’ll help you get a clue at why they may or may not work.
By end of this session you'll have a much better idea of what needs to be considered when plotting a mystery.
Day 2: Aug. 21
12 PM - 1:30
Who’s Heist Is It Anyway?
A crook can't steal what isn't there. A detective can't find what never been. Which is why in the first half of this session we'll uncover the all the key pieces that make writing a mystery a 1000% easier. You could say we'll be Picking, Plotting and Planning the crime
Best Caper Crook-Off
Then to stretch your skills, you'll break into teams and plot a fictional crime. May the best crew win.
Under The Hot Lights
Finally, we'll examine your results and several of you will put your problems on the table for interrogation, Uh ... I mean discussion.
*Q&A Time is available. But not mandatory.
Day 3: Aug. 22,
12 PM - 1:30 PM
Thugs, Crews, and Pros.
We tackle the final key component ... The characters. Choosing your cast to fit the crime is key to a success or fiasco. We’ll look at who, why and how in some fictional cases. Then tackle yours.
P.I.s, Snoops, and the Ones With The Badge
Based on your fictional plots, we’ll look at the proper sleuths and how they might solve a crime. Remember every character has their traits, and every sleuth has their quirks.
*Q&A Time is available. But not mandatory.
*Along with Cheat Sheets, Check Lists, Blueprints and a few other resources, you'll be all set for the job.
Day 4 : BONUS DAY
12 PM - 1:30 PM
Case and Code Cracked
We'll spend some quality time review all that you learned and take a peak at and how much farther it can take you.
Edie's Edge
You also get to tap into the knowledge of my VIP guest editor and agent.
You'll be receiving Update and Reminder emails all through the event. So don't worry about missing anything.
Oh, yeah ... I'm working on getting having another bonus together for everyone who makes it through all 5 days/. But I'll keep that one under wraps for now.
So, see you on the inside ... sort of.
